Town Name:- Arundel

Arun, from the River Arun that carved the valley, and the horehound dell. From the ( a herb used to cure coughs)

Arundel castle had been home to the Dukes of Norfolk for over 500 years. In Norman times the town was a port. In 1643 Oliver cromwell laid siege to the castle and devistated it with cannon fire. It was rebuilt in the 18th century. Only the keep and the barbican remain of the original building.
