Town Name:- Ashby-De-La-Zouch (the settlement among the Ash Trees)

The estate was owned by Roger de la Souch, a Norman nobleman, in around 1160. The castle (which was origianally a stone hall) was built by the first Lord Hastings. The Castle, now in ruins, was used by the royalists in the English civil war and besieged by oliver Cromwell in the 17th century for over a year.
